As 2021 commences, so does Zak Mundine’s career away from Canard Solutions. The Australian rider started his career with Division 1 giants Andeby on Saturday after an auction that finished with a transfer fee of $200,000.
Zak leaves Canard Solutions in the midst of a rebuild and the loss of his strength will be felt by the South American minnows. However, team manager Juan Yetaes believes his gamble to back three homegrown talents in Vaquero, Santos, and Hernandez will pay off.
“Zak has been a great captain and a fanatic support for Cuello, we will miss him greatly,” Juan said.
He continued, “However, we are looking at the longer term and we decided this year to sell and retire some of our older riders in order to support our Columbian and Venezuelan youngsters. We are really excited about their potential and although we will miss Zak’s skill, the money he leaves us with will go a long way to support their development.”
Zak Mundine said he was excited about the move and was hoping to take his career to the next level at Andeby. “CSB has been great but racing in Div 1 has always been a dream of mine. I am excited to represent a team in the top flight.”
Zak leaves the CSB just a couple of weeks after winning Nowra-Wilton. Let’s hope this form continues as we watch his progress with great interest.
